so we are totally behind the times, have no idea what’s going on in the world and have to rely on our young fans (i use that term very loosely) to tell us what’s hip. most of the time we despair about what passes for entertainment these days (yes, i’m turning into my parents) but occasionally we come across a gem. and this is it…

Published February 25, 2012 | as a “real” music blog, we are crap. nobody comes here to find out what’s going on in the music biz (how old are we?). in the end, this is a blog about us and the things we like (or don’t like, as the case may be). once in a while, i do a little search on the internet i.e. google, for new bands that i might like. mistake! google can only tell you what’s popular and what’s selling. so if pitbull is your thing, it’s all hunkydory. if, like me, you haven’t really liked anything new since radiohead because…

i do think it’s time we tried to be a little bit “cool” again (stop sniggering) and started writing about music (as well as the assorted nonsense that you know and love, dear reader)

lamia…. we know you have a castle and probably a bunch of lookout towers too but we bad mathematics are a crafty lot. we’ll be sneaking into your fair city at the end of march sometime. the exact date is top secret so as not to give you any advantage over our tiny band of renegades. yes, a gig in lamia is on the cards. final details to be arranged and poster to be cobbled together by our loud lovely web master and resident designer, vishy. we will let you know as soon as possible so you can make travel arrangements ;D
we will be doing a comeback/all is forgiven/reunion/party/gig fest in athens as soon as possible after lamia. venue suggestions are very welcome.

i created the “challenge the diva” competition so long ago that i don’t remember even why but what the hell, it’s a new year. so here goes…

i want to make a philosophical observation with this post (because that’s the kind of diva i am). life is weird. yep, that’s it. life is weird. as you know, dear reader, i am a working person now. strange as it might sound, i have joined the milling masses and now spend a 1/12 of my life (don’t forget the name of the band) on public transport, a 1/3 of my life slaving away for pocket money and another 1/3 asleep (well, that’s an exageration but i can’t do fractions). that leaves… about an hour a day to do things i enjoy.
people. we have been misled! we have been cheated. all the films we watch tell us to “seize the day”, to “embrace life”, to “live life to the fullest”. and how the f*@%ing hell are we supposed to do this in the one hour we have between the washing, cooking, cleaning our teeth, getting ready to go to work, winding down after work, shopping (boring grocery shopping not the good kind), staring into space unsure whether we’re actually still breathing and worrying about all the things we failed to do by not “seizing the f*@%#ing day.
life is a big fat bamboozler and i am full of bamboozlement.
there. it’s done. the silence is broken and i can breathe a sigh of relief that i’ve returned to the blog. and now i’ve used up 15 minutes of “seizing” time and you’ve spent 2 and half minutes of yours reading this nonsense.

although, who knew there was “spam lite”, “spam hot and spicy”, “spam garlic”, “spam hawaii”, “spam bbq”, “spam with less sodium”, “spam hickory smoke” and “spam with freakin’ cheese”…
i was born in the wrong decade… thank goodness
(and who the hell says ” it’s porkfantastic” and lives to tell the tale? obviously only the masterminds behind spam…)
